(Trend) -- The "Gazprom neft" and the
National Iranian Oil Company will consider the participation of other companies
in a project to develop the Azar oil field in Iran within a month, INTERFAX
reported referring to the Russian Energy Ministry. The Ministry’s report
followed the talks between Russian Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko and Iranian
Oil Minister Rustam Kazemi.
Russia and the Islamic Republic will determine the prospects of the Azar
field development within a month, Shmatko said earlier at a press-conference in
Iran.
Iran claimed in late August that the "Gazprom neft" delayed the
implementation of the project and therefore the Russian company might lose the
right to develop the field.
