DOF market stabilizes

МOSCOW (МRC) - Agiotage in Russian DOF market went down, but the prices still are on high level. In June plasticizer prices are fluctuating in the range of RUB 73.000 - 83.000/mt - according to MRC Price reports.

In April scheduled maintenance of DOF plant at Salavatnefteorgsyntez caused deficit in the Russian market and, as a result, a serious price increase. Partly, further DOF price elevation in the Russian market is caused by the suspension of production in Roshalsk plant due to technical problems. In June DOF demand in the market was going up due to consumption increase in plasticized PVC and artificial leather sectors. But despite the increase of consumption and absence of production at one of four sites, the situation in the DOF market has stabilized.

Recently prices for imported DOF reached the level RUB 92.000/mt, including VAT, FCA. To mid-June prices for Russian DOF were fluctuating in the market between RUB 73.000/mt to RUB80.000/mt, including VAT, FCA. Plasticizer imports are growing, the price is in the range of RUB 80.000 - 83.000/mt. DOF supplies from North America are expected soon.

KraussMaffei develops new Energy Analysis Tool

MUNICH (KraussMaffei) -- The new Energy Analysis Tool enables processors to monitor the power consumption of their KraussMaffei injection molding machine without a time lag. The specific energy demand for various machine functions is displayed online on the operator panel. This information is essential for determining the optimal operating points with regard to energy consumption.

In production processes where materials undergo a change of state, for example, during plasticizing, substantial energy losses are often considered inevitable. Today, the preferred approach is to reexamine the processes and their energy consumption, because in many cases it will be possible to make savings. This approach requires precise and detailed energy consumption data for the machine and any peripheral equipment.
