LLDPE market still has good outlooks

July 27/2009
MOSCOW (MRC) -- In spite of the slump in polymers processing in 2009, the Russian LLDPE market is still in a good state, MRC’s analysts report.

The LLDPE market stepped over the psychological point of 100 kt (17% growth at the year-end). Pallet stretch-film keeps on forcing out shrinkable film; furthermore, LLDPE is being actively used in multi-layer film compositions.
The moment business was confronted by problems with attraction of credit resources in Q4 2008, overall investments rolled back to the level of 2003. The vector of the polynomial trend might move “into minus” by 2009.

However,  LLDPE converters kept on investing into film extrusion despite the crisis.
We would like to mark out market leaders that expanded their production in 2008: Desnogorsk’s Polymer (a Macchi line), Vyazma’s Lava (a Dolci Bielloni Castello line). In 2008, new lines to produce multi-layer films were also installed in Saransk (a Techno Coating Engineering line) and in Klimovsk (a Kuhne line).
