Polyethylene prices to go up in August

July 30/2009
MOSCOW (MRC) -- Moscow (MRC) – Russian producers are going to push up August polyethylene prices – MRC reporting.

Increase in prices will depend on the type of material and it will vary within the range of RUB1.000–4.000/mt. Prices for film and pipe-grade HDPE will demonstrate the highest rise.

European producers are to raise their prices, as well. Some companies have already reported on their intention to force up August prices by EUR70-100/mt.
The final decision will be taken next week. In the meantime, some European producers have pushed up prices for butane-based LLDPE on average by EUR30-50/mt.
