Ineos to resume operations in Norway

MOSCOW (MRC) – The largest European PVC producer Ineos is going to resume operations of its 520 kta VCM plant in Rafnes (Norway) early in August.


Production was shut down in mid-July due to force-majeure. Exports of company’s feedstock to Russia were suspended till October due to shutdown of the four European PVC sites.


The VCM plant will be suspended for scheduled repair in September, and shipments to Russia can be resumed only upon its completion.

In Russia  Ineos’s interests are represented by  Ineos Polyolefins and  IneosChlorVinyls.


The share in the Russian market in 2008:
 PVC - 4.5%;

 polyethylene - 1.9%
 (HDPE - 2.8%, LDPE – 1.2%);
 polypropylene - 1.4%
(PP-random – 22.1%, PP-impact - 2.0%);
 polystyrene – 0.9%.
