(gv) -- Sibur has announced that it had entered into the final stage of its SBS capacity expansion at its Voronezhsintezkauchuk plant.
The measure will boost Sibur’s SBS capacity from 35,000 to 85,000 t/y. The plant will produce standard linear and radial grades, as well as several oil extended, high styrene and special grades. The launch of the united is scheduled for H1 2013.
Recently the company has signed an agreement with Japanese distributor Marubeni for the distribution of SBS in Europe.
SIBUR is one of Russia’s largest producers in the plastics and organic synthesis sectors. The company manufactures styrene, polystyrene, PVC, polymer compounds, ethylbenzene, alcohols, ethylene oxide, ethylene glycol, polyethylene terephthalate, geosynthetic materials and caustics. SIBUR is implementing major projects to build a polypropylene production complex in Tobolsk, Tyumen Region and, as MRC reported earlier, in partnership with SolVin, a PVC complex in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region.
