MOSCOW (MRC) -- Over the course of the six months, HDPE demand dropped by 17%, compared to the same period last year, and moved at 325.6 kt, MRC reporting. |

|
HDPE imports have decreased 47%, this year. The most serious decrease in imports referred to film (by 71%) and pipe (by 69%) HDPE grades.
Demand for film-grade HDPE became stronger in June; there was already lack of that material in July. Early in August, the situation with film-grade HDPE became more or less stable. We assume shipments to the domestic market are sufficient to meet demand. |
During June-July, there emerged the first signs of lack of pipe-grade HDPE, which is going to last right till early September.
