Consumption of soft compounds decreased nearly two times in Russia |

MOSCOW (MRC) -- Consumption of soft compounds in Russia decreased 48% in the first half of the year, and moved at 53.57 kt – according to MRC’s specialists. |

This year, output of soft compounds dropped
by 46%, compared to the same period last year. Producers were to cut
down output volumes in view of weak demand. Caustic (Sterlitamak)
seriously reduced production (by 56%). The plant produced 11.11 kt of
soft compounds in the first half of the year.
The most serious decrease was recorded in the sector of cable compounds. Imports of cable compounds went down by 56%, this year.

The share of cable compounds imports is nearly a half of overall
imports of that material. Prominvest Plastic is still the leader in
imports.
