MOSCOW (MRC) – Over the course of January-July,polyethylene(PE)
imports in Ukraine went down by 13% (to 168.26 kt) compared to the same
period last year – MRC’s analysts reporting. Imports of PE from South Korea decreased more than two times.
HDPE imports dropped by 11%. High prices and weak converters’ solvency seriously cut down PE stocks of many companies. In view of high purchasing prices in Europe, many Ukrainian converters are trying to switch to HDPE of Russian producers. Imports of RussianHDPEwent up by 55%.
LDPE imports decreased 7%. Ukrainian converters and traders ceased
buying feedstock in Azerbaijan. Buying activity in the film-gradeLDPEmarket became stronger in July. Feedstock used to produce shrinkable film was the most popular.
