MOSCOW (MRC) - Production of unmixed polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in Russia increased to 260,600 tonnes in the first four months of this year, up 22% compared to the same period of 2014. The largest increase in PVC production occurred for RusVinyl and Bashkir Soda Company, according to MRC ScanPlast.
In April all Russian PVC producers except SayanskKhimPlast reduced production rates; the total production of resin slightly exceeded 62,100 tonnes, compared with 60,500 tonnes in March. Russia's PVC production totalled 260,600 tonnes in the first four months of the year, compared with 212,700 year on year.
SayanskKhimPlast showed a significant decline in production, however, this factor was more than offset by RusVinyl and growth in production volumes at Bashkir Soda Company. Structure of PVC production over the reported period looked as follows.
SayanskKhimPlast in April increased PVC production to 20,900 tonnes against 11,900 tonnes in March (the company shut its capacity for maintenance work in the beginning of the month). Total PVC production by the producer was 76,900 tonnes in the first four months of this year, down 22% year on year.
Bashkir Soda Company (BSC) in April of this year produced about 19,300 tonnes of suspension polyvinyl chloride (SPVC), while in March the figure was 21,500 tonnes. Producer's production of SPVC totalled 83,200 tonnes in January - April of this year, up 10% year on year.
RusVinyl (JV of SIBUR and SolVin) in April shut its capacities for scheduled maintenances, as a result, its PVC production reduced to 14,100 tonnes, compared with 19,200 tonnes in March. The company in the second half of August plans to shut down its capacities for maintenace works. The producer's PVC production totalled about 69,000 tonnes in January-April 2015.
Kaustik (Volgograd) in April slightly decreased its production volumes, with suspension PVC (SPVC) production totalled less than 7,900 tonnes.
The producer's SPVC production over the four months of the year was 31,500 tonnes, down 1% year on year.
