MOSCOW (MRC) -- Celanese Corporation, a global technology and specialty materials company and a global leader in emulsion polymers, has announced it will raise the price of all emulsions sold in Europe, the Middle East and Africa effective June 1, 2015, or as contracts allow, reported the producer on its site.
Prices for all vinyl acetate based emulsions (vinyl acetate ethylene, vinyl acetate homopolymer and vinyl acetate copolymer emulsions) will be raised by EUR 50/tonne, prices for all full acrylic-based emulsions will be raised by EUR50/tonne and prices for all styrene acrylic-based emulsions will be raised by EUR100/tonne.
This price increase affects applications including, but not limited to, adhesives, paint and coatings, building and construction, nonwovens, glass fiber, carpet, paper and textiles.
As MRC wrote previously, Clanese Corporation last raised its prices of vinyl acetate-based emulsions sold in Asia since April 24, 2015, or as contracts allowed. Vinyl acetate ethylene (EVA) increased by Yuan 400/tonne for China and USD55/tonne for the rest of Asia.
This increase was attributed to the continued pressures on raw materials, notably ethylene and vinyl acetate monomer (VAM).
Celanese Corporation is a global technology leader in the production of differentiated chemistry solutions and specialty materials used in most major industries and consumer applications. Based in Dallas, Texas, Celanese employs approximately 7,500 employees worldwide and had 2014 net sales of USD6.8 billion.
