MOSCOW (MRC) -- BASF will lift force majeure declared on May 21 for ethylene oxide (EO)-based products produced in Europe in the portfolio of home care and industrial & institutional cleaning, formulation technologies, aghem additives and certain EO-based products in the portfolio of personal care as of July 10, 2015, said the producer on its site.
BASF announced the lifting of force majeure for EO as of July 1, 2015. With the improved ethylene oxide supply situation the production of EO-based products is ramping-up. Consequently, force majeure will be lifted as of July 10 for all affected EO-based products in the portfolio of care chemicals.
As MRC informed earlier, in September 2014, BASF announced the start-up of a new butadiene extraction plant at its Verbund site in Antwerp, Belgium. The plant has an annual production capacity of 155,000 metric tons.
