MOSCOW (MRC) -- A fire at a PetroChina branch in northwest China has left one person dead, four injured, and two missing, reported Xinhua.
The fire at the Qingyang petrochemical company in Gansu Province broke out at 7 on Sunday morning due to an oil leakage. There were 8 people on duty at the time.
Among the 4 injured, one is in critical condition. Firefighters were called in immediately and were able to completely put out the fire around noon. The case is now under investigation.
As MRC wrote before, in August 2014, a leak at the Lanzhou plant of PetroChina (in northwestern Gansu province), one of the country’s oil refining hubs, caused fire. It operates crude refining capacity of just over 200,000 barrels per day and also an affiliated petrochemical complex.
PetroChina Company Limited, is a Chinese oil and gas company and is the listed arm of state-owned China National Petroleum Corporation, headquartered in Dongcheng District, Beijing. It is China's biggest oil producer.
