MOSCOW (MRC) -- Bashkir Soda Company (BSC, a former "Kaustik", Sterlitamak), part of JSC "Bashkir Chemistry", has resumed production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) after a scheduled shutdown for maintenance, according to ICIS-MRC Price report with reference to the company's customers.
BSC had fully resumed its production of suspension polyvinyl chloride (SPVC) bt 28 August 2015 after an outage for maintenance works. The plant was shut down for a turnaround on 13 August. The plant's annual production capacity is 230,000 tonnes.
BSC's overall PVC production reached 147,000 tonnes from January to July 2015, up by 11% year on year.
As reported earlier, SayanskKhimplast also shut down its production for maintenance on 9 August. The maintenance works will last until 8 September. The plant's annual production capacity is 280,000 tonnes.
Open Joint Stock Company "Bashkir Soda Company" OJSC ("BSC") was formed in April 2013 by merging the two companies: JSC "Soda" and JSC "Kaustik". Along with JSC "Berezniki Soda Plant" and the transport company JSC "Transneftekhim", the company is part of JSC "Bashkir Chemistry". To date, JSC BSC is one of the largest chemical complexes in Russia. The plant's main products are caustic soda and chlorine, soda ash, sodium bicarbonate, PVC, cable compounds, hydrochloric acid, corrosion inhibitors, wood-polymer composite, calcium chloride, terephthaloyl chloride and other chemical products.
