MOSCOW (MRC) - Imports of suspension polyvinyl chloride (SPVC) into Ukraine decreased by 31% in the first nine months of this year, compared to the same period in 2014 and reached 61,200 tonnes, according to MRC DataScope.
September imports of SPVC into Ukraine remained at a quite high level and amounted to 10,100 tonnes, compared with 11,900 tonnes a month earlier. Ukraine's SPVC imports over the first nine months of the year decreased to 61,200 tonnes, compared with 88,700 tonnes year on year.
Structure of PVC imports into Ukraine over the reported period was as follows.
September imports of US SPVC into Ukraine shrank to 6,100 tonnes, compared with 7,000 tonnes in August. Local converters, in particular, producers of window profiles, gradually decreased purchases of the feedstock, anticipating a seasonal decline in demand for finished products. Total US PVC imports into the country decreased to 25,000 tonnes in January - September 2015, compared with 53,300 tonnes year on year.
September imports of European PVC in Ukraine decreased to 3,300 tonnes, compared with 4,500 tonnes in August. Total imports of European SPVC decreased to 29,300 tonnes in the first nine months of the year, compared with 34,100 tonnes year on year.
September SPVC imports from Russia slumped to 219 tonnes from 300 tonnes in August. Total imports of the Russian resin in the first ine months of this year amounted to about 6,200 tonnes, while in the same time a year ago the figure was 340 tonnes.
