MOSCOW (MRC) - Production of polypropylene (PP) in Russia increased to 1.045 mln tonne in the first ten months of this year, up 25% compared to the same period of 2014. Increase in production volumes showed all Russian companies, except Nizhnekamskneftekhim, as per MRC ScanPlast.
October PP production in Russia increased to 117,700 tonnes, compared with 74,700 tonnes in September 2015 (in September Tobolsk-Polymer, Poliom and Tomskneftekhim were shut for the turnaround). Total PP production in Russia reached 1.045 mln tonnes in the first ten months of the year, compared with 833,800 tonnes in the same period of 2014. Positive growth in the output show all companies except Nizhnekamskneftekhim, which slightly reduced production volumes.
Structure of PP production over the reported period looked as follows.
The largest producer of polypropylene in Russia - Tobolsk-Polymer (SIBUR) last month increased PP production of up to 43,000 tonnes against 19,100 tonnes in September (the company was shut for maintenance works from late July to early September). Tobolsk-Polymer's PP production reached 301,600 tonnes in the first ten months of the year, compared with 194,400 tonnes year on year.
Poliom (Titan) in October produced about 17,300 tonnes against 6,300 tonnes in September (the plant was shut for three weeks for the turnaround). Total PP production at the plant over the reported period exceeded 159,000 tonnes, compared with 142,800 tonnes year on year.
Stavrolen (LUKOIL) produced about 11,000 tonnes in October against 7,500 tonnes in September, when it was shut because of the short emergency shutdown at the production of ethylene. PP production at Stavrolen was 93,400 tonnes in the first ten months of the year, compared with 23,400 tonnes in the same time a year earlier (in 2014 the producer worked from March to October).
Tomskneftekhim last month produced about 12,300 tonnes of polypropylene, while the September figure was about 6,000 tonnes (from late August to mid-September, the company shut its capacity for maintenance works. Total PP production by the producer was 112,100 tonnes in the first ten months of 2015, up 7% year on year.
Ufaorgsintez and Neftekhimia (Kapotnya) produced about 10,800 tonnes in October and 8,800 tonnes of polypropylene, respectively, compared with the September index. Total PP production by the producers increased to 105,200 tonnes and 97,000 tonnes, respectively, in the first ten months of 2015, up 5% and 7% year on year.
Nizhnekamskneftekhim had to shut PP production in October for several days because of the technical reasons, as a consequence, PP output decreased to 14,600 tonnes against 16,300 tonnes in September. The producer's PP production over the first ten months of the year was 176,500 tonnes, down 1% year on year.
