MOSCOW (MRC) - Production of unmixed polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in Russia increased to 75,700 tonnes in January 2016, up 6% compared to the level in December 2015. Increase in production volumes showed all Russian companies, except RusVinyl, as per MRC ScanPlast.
January production of unmixed PVC in Russia rose to 75,700 tonnes, compared with 71,700 tonnes in December 2015. Despite the low demand for resin Russian producers increased loading of their capacities, the only exception was only RusVinyl that, on the contrary, reduced production rates.
Structure of PVC production over the reported period looked as follows.
RusVinyl (joint venture of Sibur and SolVin) in January produced about 23,500 tonnes of PVC, where 1,200 tonnes of them occurred for emulsion polyvinyl chloride (EPVC). December PVC production in Russia was 26,400 tonnes, where 1,000 tonnes occurred for slightly more than 1,000 tonnes of EPVC. Total PVC production at RusVinyl in 2015 reached about 236,000 tonnes.
Bashkir Soda Company (BSC) in January 2016 produced about 22,400 tonnes of suspension polyvinyl chloride (SPVC), while in December it was less than 22,000 tonnes. Producer's production of PVC in 2015 totalled 242,200 tonnes, up 9% year on year.
SayanskKhimPlast in January showed quite a big increase in capacity utilisation, its PVC output reached the level of 21,700 tonnes against 15,300 tonnes in December. At the same time this week due to an unscheduled shutdown of ethylene production at Angarsk ZP SayanskKhimPlast had to shut down PVC production. As result, the producer's SPVC production in 2015 decreased to 208,500 tonnes, down 26% year on year.
Kaustik (Volgograd) in January also showed a slight increase in production, last month's SPVC production was about 8,200 tonnes, compared with 8,100 tonnes in December. The producer's SPVC production in 2015 was 95,400 tonnes, up 5% year on year.
