MOSCOW (MRC) -- A. Schulman, Inc announced signing of an exclusive distribution agreement with Rego-Plast for the world-wide distribution of its regranulates (recycled plastic from production waste), said Plasteurope.
A Schulman is among the leading international suppliers of high-performance plastic compounds, powders composites and resins. Under the agreement, A. Schulman will utilize its sales and marketing expertise and leverage the strength of its network to present and distribute the Rego-Plast’s product portfolio, which consists of recycled plastics for applications in the automotive, E&E and small appliance markets.
"A. Schulman is excited to offer its EMEA customers access to Rego-Plast’s leading portfolio of regranulates. The addition of regranulates supports our strategy to augment our portfolio with products that help our customers to address their needs for recycled raw materials," said Heinrich Lingnau, Senior Vice President and General Manager, EMEA. "We look very much forward to working and growing with Rego-Plast in this relationship."
"The future cooperation with Rego-Plast closes indeed a gap in our product portfolio," commented Sandor Konya, Vice President Distribution Services, EMEA. "More sustainable and reliable raw material sources are of major importance to our customers. The fact that we can now offer high-quality, tailor-made regranulates will enable us to better serve customers in additional markets and applications."
"This agreement allows us to provide more customers with access to high-quality regranulates through A. Schulman’s expanded network," said Mr. Krisztian Balogh, Managing Director Rego-Plast. "In addition, this will provide us the flexibility to devote more resources to our primary focus in R&D."
As MRC informed earlier, materials firm A. Schulman Inc. plans to spend 5 million to EUR7 mln (USD5.5 mln to USD7.7 mln) on a new masterbatch facility in Turkey, to tap into market growth in the region.
Rego-Plast operates a 2,000 m2 plant in Jaszjakohalma – located about 50 km east of the Hungarian capital Budapest. The facility is capable of recycling 20,000 t/y, divided among compounding and contract recycling. The company specialises in engineering thermoplastics and TPEs used in the automotive and E&E segments. Rego-Plast managing director Krisztian Balogh said the deal will provide the company with more flexibility and allow it to devote more resources to R&D.
