MOSCOW (MRC) -- China's Yisheng Petrochemical, the country's largest purified terephthalic acid (PTA) producer, has restarted its No. 4 PTA line in Ningbo ahead of schedule, company sources told TPS.
The company's newest PTA unit, with an annual capacity of 2.2 million mt/year, was restarted on Monday and will be running at maximum capacity. The plant was shut on February 9, bringing the total downtime to 13 days.
According to sources, the company will also restart its No. 3 PTA line, which produces 2 million mt/year, somewhere in H1 March.
Meanwhile, both No. 1 and No. 2 plant are idled.
As MRC wrote previously, in mid-September 2015, Yisheng Petrochemical shut down operations at its No.1 PTA. A Polymerupdate source in China informed that the company took the No.1 PTA plant offstream owing to technical glitch. The exact duration of the shutdown could not be ascertained. Located at Ningbo in Zhejiang province of China, the plant has a production capacity of 650,000 mt/year.
