MOSCOW (MRC) -- BASF-YPC, a 50-50 joint venture of BASF and Sinopec, has begun production at its new 40,000-t/y neopentyl glycol (NPG) facility in Nanjing, China, as per GV.
Built at a state-of-the-art Verbund site, the world-scale NPG unit was built to respond to customers' growing demand for NPG, especially in the Asia-Pacific region, noted Narayan Krishnamohan, senior vice president, BASF Intermediates Asia Pacific.
As MRC reported before, on April 1, 2015, BASF-YPC, shut a naphtha cracker for maintenance turnaround. It remained off-stream till May 18, 2015. Located in Nanjing, China, the cracker has a production capacity of 740,000 mt/year.
BASF-YPC Company Limited is a 50-50 joint venture formed in 2000 between BASF and Sinopec.
