Activity is traditionally low in the EPS market in the first two month of
2016, which affects the performance of the first quarter. Demand
starts to grow in March every year and significantly
increases in April with the onset of warm weather and the beginning of
construction outdoor works, stronger demand from packaging producers.
However, demand for imported grades was even weaker in early 2016.
Traders said domestic consumers were purchasing Russian
EPS.
In March, Chinese producer Loyal,
Finnish Styrochem and German BASF accounted for the greatest
imports in March.
