MOSCOW (MRC) -- PolyOne has presented new advanced polymer solutions and services to support manufacturing innovation and efficiency in the European transportation industry, as per the company's press release.
This includes the launch of OnFlex LO thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), featuring reduced levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) for vehicle interiors, and the availability of its IQ Design Labs service in Europe.
"PolyOne continues to introduce new polymer solutions and design services to help our customers innovate," explained Holger Kronimus, vice president and general manager, Specialty Engineered Materials, Europe, at PolyOne. "Based on its success in North America, the IQ Design Labs service will now additionally support the creativity of Europe’s manufacturers and help them shrink the time required to introduce new products."
PolyOne also introduced OnFlex LO specialty TPEs, which help automotive OEMs improve the driver experience by reducing the number of VOCs in vehicle interiors by up to 50 percent. Targeted applications include HVAC seals, buttons, controls, coin trays and drink holder mats.
Combining expertise in design, polymer science and manufacturing, IQ Design Labs works with customers in the early stages of product development to inspire creative designs that can be efficiently manufactured and successfully launched.
As MRC reported earlier, in January 2016, PolyOne Corporation announced the acquisition of Magenta Master Fibers (Magenta), an innovative developer of specialty solid color concentrates for the global fiber industry.PolyOne purchased Magenta from BASF for USD22 million, which represents a multiple of 6.8x EBITDA. The acquisition is expected to add USD16 million to revenues and be accretive to earnings in 2016.
