MOSCOW (MRC) - Imports of unmixed polyvinyl chloride (PVC) into Belarus decreased to 8,000 tonnes in the first five months of this year, down 16.5% year on year, according to MRC DataScope.
According to the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, May PVC imports into Belarus increased to 1,800 tonnes, compared to 1,700 tonnes in April. Local converters have significantly increased the volume of resin purchases in Russia, having reduced purchases in Europe.
According to the National Statistics Committee of Belarus, demand for PVC in the country decreased to 8,000 tonnes in January - May of 2016, compared with 9,500 tonnes in the same time a year earlier. The main reason for such a significant decline in processing volumes was the fall in export sales of finished products, in particular, the profile-moulded products.
Market of profile-moulded products decreased to 3,000 tonnes in January-May 2016, almost down by one third from the same time a year earlier. The key suppliers into the local market during the reporting period were Russian producers. Their share in the reporting period grew to 76%, the total volume of shipments amounted to 6,100 tonnes. The second and third place took producers from Germany and Poland with a shipments of 930 tonnes and 671 tonnes respectively.
MRC
