MOSCOW (MRC) - Kazanorgsintez (KOS group TAIF), one of the largest chemical enterprises in Russia, stopped production of hight density polyethylene (HDPE) for scheduled maintenance works, said the customers of the plant.
KOS has completely shut HDPE by the beginning of the week for scheduled maintenances. According to the customers of the producer, the shutdown will last about three weeks, a gradual resumption of production will begin from 11 October. The plant's annual production capacity is 540,000 tonnes.
Scheduled maintenance works of HDPE production at Kazanorgsintez is the last in the current year at Russian producers. Gazprom neftekhim Salavat shut down its HDPE production for the turnaround in late July. Stavrolen and Nizhnekamskneftekhim do not plan to shut down their production capacities for maintenance this year.
As MRC reported earlier, Kazanorgsintez increased HDPE production in August to 49,700 tonnes compared to 41,800 tonnes in July.
The producer produced about 329,000 tonnes of HDPE in the first eight months of the year, down 4% year on year.
