MOSCOW (MRC) - Production of polypropylene (PP) in Russia increased to 1.014 mln tonne in the first nine months of this year, up 9% compared to the same period of 2015. The largest increase in PP production accounted for Tobolsk-Polymer and Neftekhimiya (Kapotnya), according to MRC ScanPlast.
September PP production in Russia fell to 118,500 tonnes compared to 123,000 tonnes a month earlier. Poliom shut its PP production in September for a two weeks turnaround. Russia's PP production reached 1.014 m tonnes in January-September 2016, compared to 927,900 tonnes a year earlier. At the same time, Ufaorgsintez and Tomskneftekhim decreased PP production.

The largest producer of PP in Russia - Tobolsk-Polymer (SIBUR) in September produced more than 46,400 tonnes against 42,200 tonnes a month earlier. Tobolsk-Polymer's PP production reached 333,400 tonnes in the first nine months of the year, compared with 259,600 tonnes year on year.
Omsk Poliom (Titan) in September has gained more than 10,600 tonnes compared to 18,600 tonnes a month earlier; the plant shut PP production capacities two-week turnaround on 12 September. Total PP production at the plant over the reported period exceeded 149,600 tonnes, compared with 141,700 tonnes year on year.
Neftekhimiya (Kapotnya) last month produced about 11,000 tonnes of PP, compared with 11,400 tonnes in August. The producer's PP output in the first nine months of the year reached 96,900 tonnes, up 12% year on year.
Stavrolen (LUKOIL) last month decreased capacity utilisation, total polypropylene production had dropped to 10,400 tonnes against 10,900 tonnes in August. PP production at Stavrolen was 87,700 tonnes in the first nine months of the year, compared with 82,400 tonnes in the same time a year earlier.
Nizhnekamskneftekhim last month actually kept the August level of capacity utilisation, and has gained about 18,000 tonnes of polypropylene.
The producer's PP production exceeded 162,400 tonnes in Jan-Sept 2016, practically the same as in 2015.
September PP production at Ufaorgsintez decreased to 10,600 tonnes from 11,100 tonnes a month earlier. The producer's PP output decreased to 90,300 tonnes in January-September 2016 compared with 94,500 tonnes year on year.
Tomskneftekhim in September produced about 11,400 tonnes of polypropylene, while in August PP output slightly exceeded 11,500 tonnes.
The producer's PP production over the nine months of the year exceeded 93,900 tonnes, down 7% in the same time a year earlier.
