МОSCOW (MRC) -- After more than two years, the expansion of Marathon Petroleum Corporation’s corporate headquarters in Findlay, Ohio, is complete, said Hydrocarbonprocessing.
The project included construction of two office buildings, two parking garages, and an outdoor plaza space for employees and contractors, known as the Marathon Green. The project provided more than 550 additional office work spaces and approximately 1,000 additional parking spaces.
"Since becoming an independent company in 2011, the number of employees at our corporate headquarters has grown," said Gary R. Heminger, MPC chairman, president and chief executive officer.
"It became necessary that we expand our corporate offices to meet our increased employee base and growing business. Now that it is completed, we have an exceptional campus that will meet the needs of our business for years to come."
Earlier this year, MPC announced plans to further expand its Findlay campus with the addition of a hotel. Construction of The Hancock Hotel, a 100-room hotel, began in May 2016 and is scheduled to be finished in late 2017.
As it was written earlier, Hedge fund Elliott Management unveiled a 4% stake in Marathon Petroleum Corp on Monday, urging the company to launch a strategic review and consider spinning off its three main businesses.
Marathon Oil Corporation is a United States-based oil and natural gas exploration and production company. Principal exploration activities are in the United States, Norway, Equatorial Guinea, Poland, Angola and Iraqi Kurdistan.
