Indian Oil to fully shut Mathura refinery in November for maintenance

April 25/2019

MOSCOW (MRC) -- Indian Oil Corp, the countrys top refiner, plans to fully shut its 160,000 barrels per day Mathura refinery in northern Uttar Pradesh state for about 38 days from November for routine maintenance, reported Reuters with reference to sources.

The refiner also plans to shut a fluidized catalytic cracker for 54 days from November and a continuous catalytic reformer for 35 days for routine maintenance.

Besides, the refiner will also shut a diesel hydrotreater for 77 days in October-December, the sources said.
IOC did not respond to a Reuters email seeking comments.

IOCs Mathura refinery is capable of producing Euro VI compliant fuel, which India plans to introduce from April 2020.

As MRC wrote before, Indian Oil Corp shut half of its 300,000 barrels per day Panipat refinery in northern Haryana state for about a month from mid-February 2019 for maintenance. The refiner shut a 150,000 bpd crude unit. It  also shut a sulfur recovery unit, hydrocracker, diesel hydrotreater, and coker among others for planned maintenance.
