September, 22 (plasteurope.com) -- BASF
has decided not to re-introduce short-time working at its main
production site before the end of November, if at all this year.
In June, the world’s largest chemical producer put 1,000 employees in
20 Ludwigshafen plants on shorter hours for initially four months, but
removed the restrictions in September for one month. Short-time working
continues at some other German and European sites.
Overall capacity utilisation rates at BASF’s 220 Ludwigshafen plants averaged 60% at the end of August.
