Polystyrene imports down 12% in Ukraine

MOSCOW (MRC) – Over the course of January-August, polystyrene (PS) imports went down by 12% (to 33.96 kt), compared to the same period last year – according to MRC’s analysts.

EPS imports dropped by 21%. Russian converters and traders cut down purchases of EPS of Loyal (by 1,5 times), Wuxi (three times) amd Nova Chemicals (nearly two times). Imports of Dwory’s EPS increased more than two times; shipments of  LG Chem’s material went up by more than five times.

HIPS imports went down by 8%. Imports of Hungarian material decreased more than six times.

GPPS imports went up by 8%. Ukrainian converters and traders increased purchases of Dow’s GPPS more than two times.


Imports of SAN and SBS went up by 1% and 3%, respectively.

ABS imports dropped by 30%. Ukrainian companies reduced imports of Samsung Cheil Industries’ ABS by 1.5 times.
