BASF plans to start up a new Chinese MDI plant for 2014

October 02/2009
October, 2 ( -- BASF has pencilled in 2014 as the most likely start-up date for its planned new 400,000 t/y MDI production in Changshou Chemical Industry Park at Chongqing in southwestern China’s Sichuan province, managing board member Martin Brudermüller said this week.

In June 2007, the group agreed to cooperate with Chongqing Chemical and Pharmaceutical Holding Co (CCPHC) on the PU feedstock facility, initially planned to start up in 2010.

As part of its “Asia-Pacific Strategy 2020”, BASF aims to double its sales in the region by that date.
