October 07/2009
October, 7 ( -- Ineos ChlorVinyls lifted force majeure on VCM and PVC-S on 5 October 2009, saying it would now be able to ensure normal supply levels. The multi-site FM had been announced in mid-July following a power failure at the companys VCM plant in Rafnes / Norway, which significantly impacted Ineos ChlorVinyls ability to supply its customers with VCM and PVC.

After operating at a reduced rate, the Rafnes plant underwent a scheduled shutdown on 18 September. The company expects the site to resume normal operations by mid-October.
