Force majeure for polyamide compounds at BASF

October, 15 ( -- A production failure has forced BASF to shut down its plant for "Ultramid" and "Miramid" special compounds in its Ludwigshafen headquarters. The company declared force majeure on 14 October 2009, since its ability to produce and deliver the relevant PA 6 and PA 6.6 compounds has been significantly impaired.

BASF said it was still unable to give any statement about the estimated duration of the FM, although it does not expect the facility to restart before end November.
