Karpatneftehim ready to produce 12 KT of PVC-S in IQ of 2011

MOSCOW (MRC) -- Karpatneftehim (Group of companies Lukoil, Kalush, Ukraine) plans to launch on March, 1 the production of suspension PVC and at the end of QI of 2011 produce 12 KT of the resin.

The licenser of the production site in Kalush is the German Vinnolit. The expected capacities of PVC-S production are 300 KTa or about 25 TM per month. But taking into account the launch of new production, PVC-S output in March will make about 12 KT.

The most attractive sales market for Lukoil, as per MRC estimates, is the Russian market. At the expense of 10% import duties and logistics, the price for the resin in the Russian market is one of the highest in the world. The absence of the import duties for PVC from Kalush and relatively short distances will give Lukoil an additional advantage over other suspension suppliers to the Russian market. Further go the markets of the Eastern Europe, Ukraine and Turkey.

EAM Mosca, a polypropylene manufacturer, reduces environmental footprint

(Times Leader) -- EAM Mosca, a polypropylene and polyester strapping manufacturer in the Valmont Industrial Park, says it will save approximately $46,000 each year on electricity costs thanks to new energy options it's implemented.

The 500 new lighting fixtures being installed by George J. SIBUR planning significant production growth in 2011

(SIBUR) -- By the end of 2010, SIBUR's enterprises produced 16.5 million tonnes of petrochemical products, which is 6% higher than the equivalent figure for 2009 (15.5 million tonnes).

The greatest growth in the petrochemical segment was recorded in the commodity business, as well as in the production of monomers (+12.2%) and synthetic rubbers (+27.7%). The decrease in the production of stable natural gasoline (SNG) was associated with an increase in the production of pentanes in the form of individual fractions.

The slight decrease in the production of polymers was due to the increase, in comparison with 2009, in the extent of repair stoppages in connection with the transition of the enterprises to a biennial overhaul cycle.

I
n 2011, there is expected to be an increase in the total production of petrochemical products to 18.8 million tonnes, an increase of 14.4% over the figure for 2010.
