BASF declared force majeure for MA from Feluy due to strike

October, 26 ( -- BASF declared force majeure for output from its 115,000 t/y maleic anhydride (MA) plant at Feluy / Belgium on 23 October, one day after unveiling plans to shut the facility. The group said the FM was due to a strike called by workers to protest the closure. 

A spokesman said there is as yet no indication as to when the industrial action will end. Negotiations with affected workers about a redundancy plan began on 26 October.
