October, 30 (plasteurope.com) --
BASF
is trying to overcome the supply bottleneck of PA 6 and PA 6.6
compounds. Following a production failure on 10/11 October, the group
announced FM for its “Ultramid” and “Miramid” range. A
BASF
spokesman said that the group has provided customers with alternative
test types, and plans to begin delivering the relevant compounds at the
beginning of November.
BASF did not lift force majeure, saying that a renewed start-up would come earliest in December.
BASF has
also announced that it has restarted production of hexamethylendiamine
at its Seal Sands / UK site. It has not, however, lifted the FM
declared on 11 August.
