ExxonMobil announced the start-up of a number of facilities operated by a joint venture with Fujian Petrochemical and Saudi Aramco

Nov. 10 (plasteurope.com) -- In its interim report for Q3 2009, ExxonMobil  announced the recent start-up of a number of facilities operated by a joint venture with Fujian Petrochemical and Saudi Aramco at the refinery complex in Quanzhou / China. The new facilities are an ethane cracker with capacity to produce 800,000 t/y of ethylene and production plants for PE (800,000 t/y) and PP (400,000 t/y) at Fujian Refining and Petrochemical Co Ltd. (Quanzhou, Fujian / China; www.fjrep.com).


The fully integrated refinery is part of a stimulus project initiated by China to revive the petrochemical industry in the Pearl river delta.
