December, 16 ( -- Formosa Plastics Corp. USA is operating under force majeure conditions for polyethylen and polypropylene at its plant in Point Comfort, as per Plastics News. The force majeure was declared on Dec. 5, one day after a site-wide power outage. The cause of the outage remains under investigation. The site is expected to be back at normal production in the next few days, but there is no estimate as to when force majeure would be lifted, and that Formosa was working with existing inventories.
