Deceuninck sales fall 20%, seeing no recovery

January 22/2010

BRUSSELS (Reuters) -- Belgian PVC window frame maker Deceuninck expects volumes to stabilise in 2010, but said there was still no sign of a general economic recovery as it reported a 20 percent fall in full-year revenues.

Deceuninck, which has been hit by declines in the construction sector and also builds acoustic walls out of recycled PVC which can be used along highways, said full-year sales fell to 507 million euros ($720 million).
This compares with 504 million euros expected on average by three analysts polled by Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.

"The stabilization of the loss of volume that we observed in the third quarter continued until the end of October. As of November, volumes were at the level of the previous year," Chief Executive Tom Debusschere said in a statement.
