Estimated polypropylene consumption down 5% in Ukraine in 2009
Estimated PP-homo consumption dropped by 7%. Weak demand in the Ukrainian market turned out to be one of the factors of the decrease in imports (by 17%).

Last year, oil processing went up by nearly 6% at Lisichansk Refinery. As a result, PP output increased 16% at Linos in 2009.
Weak polypropylene demand in the domestic market and increased supply of oil to Lisichansk Refinery pushed up PP-homo exports. At year-end, exports hiked by 21%. Turkey and Russia are still the main foreign markets. The share of these countries in overall exports of Ukrainian polypropylene moved at 91% in 2009.
