BEIJING (Reuters) -- Sinopec"s newly expanded 100,000 barrel-per-day refinery in eastern Qingdao city aims to process at full capacity rates this year, industry officials said on Monday, piling on new supplies as Chinese oil demand is set for strong growth.
Qingdao Petrochemical plant completed in January an expansion that doubled its refining capacity from an earlier 50,000-bpd and shifted to process lower-cost, highly acidic crudes. Some of its crude cargoes will sail from as far as Brazil, officials familiar with the plant told Reuters.
