MOSCOW (MRC) -- Japanese Tosoh is in plans to shut a steam cracker for maintenance turnaround, according to Apic-online.
A Polymerupdate source in Japan informed that the cracker is planned to be shut in April 2016. It is likely to remain off-stream for around one month.
Located in Yokkaichi, Japan, the cracker has an ethylene capacity of 530,000 mt/year and propylene capacity of 316,000 mt/year.
We remind that last year, Tosoh Corp shut its naphtha cracker Yokkaichi for maintenance turnaround on March 14, 2014. The cracker remained off-stream for around one month.
As MRC reported previously, Guangzhou Tosoh shut its polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant for maintenance turnaround on February 27, 2015. It is likely to remain off-stream for around one month. Located in Guangzhou, China, the plant has a production capacity of 250,000 mt/year.
