MOSCOW (MRC) - Production of finished goods made of polymers in Russia decreased by 4.9% in January - July 2015, compared to the same period in 2014. The biggest drop in output occurred for the construction sector, according to MRC analysts.
The decline in production of products made from polymers increased in July and reached 4.9% year on year.
Whereas in the first six months, the index was 3.3%. Production of the polymer product was affected by both the general deterioration of economy, deficits and high level of prices for some polymers.
According to the Russian Federal State Statistics Service, July output of plastic pipes, hoses and fittings grew to 48,900 tonnes, compared with 45,400 tonnes in June. Total production of plastic pipes, hoses and fittings was 245,200 tonnes in the first seven months of this year, down 17% year on year.
July production of unreinforced and noncombined films fell to 82,700 tonnes, compared with more than 120,000 tonnes in June. Russia's production of of unreinforced and noncombined films increased to 611,700 tonnes in January-July 2015, up 3.8% year on year.
July production of plates and porous sheets reached 21,000 tonnes, which was practically the same as in June.
Total Russia's production of these products was 136,200 tonnes in January-July 2015, down 2.5% than in the same time a year earlier.
