MOSCOW (MRC) - Total imports of polyethylene (PE) into Belarus decreased to 97,600 tonnes in Jan-Dec 2015, down 12.5% year on year. The biggest decrease occurred for imports for high density polyethylene (HDPE), according to MRC DataScope report.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics of Belarus, December imports of polyethylene into Belarus decreased to 7,800 tonnes, compared with 9,300 tonnes in November. The deliveries of HDPE and linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) over the reported period reduced.
Total PE imports into the country were 97,600 tonnes from January to December 2015 versus 111,600 tonnes in the same period a year earlier.
Structure of PE imports in Belarus was as follows.
December imports of low density polyethylene (LDPE) and LLDPE decreased to 4,000 tonnes, compared with 4,800 tonnes in November. The main decrease in December deliveries occurred for LLDPE from Saudi Arabia. Total imports of LDPE and LLDPE over the reported period into the country were 54,600 tonnes, up 0.8% compared with the same time a year earlier.
December imports of HDPE into Belarus decreased to 3,900 tonnes, compared with 4,500 tonnes in November on the back of the reduced supply from Russian producers. Total imports of HDPE into the country dropped to 43,000 tonnes in 2015, compared with 56,600 tonnes year on year.
