MOSCOW (MRC) -- Sirjangostar Global Group (GBPC Complex), one of the largest manufacturers of engineering polymers in various grades and colors in Iran, has started exporting its products to Uzbekistan market for first time, according to the letter received by MRC.
Dr. Hosseini, Managing Director of Sirjangostar Global Group (SGG) stated in a press conference that GBPC complex is the only producer of color ABS, PC/ABS and SAN in Iran which produce 30,000 MT ABS in 45 different grades and more than 200 different colors. Moreover, GBPC is producing 25,000 MT of 5 different SAN grades and more than 10,000 MT of different ABS compounds which all above are under the license of KUMHO. He has also mentioned that the plant is producing more than 80% of its real capacity.
Dr. Hosseini also adds that 'last month AKFA Group of Companies, one of the largest producers of Home Appliances products in CIS region like Refrigerator, TV, Washing Machine, Mobile, etc visited the plant and understood fully about capabilities and production range of GBPC and agreed to start its cooperation by purchasing range of raw materials".
He also noted that SGG plans to cover 40%-50% of Uzbekistan needs of ABS-SAN an ABS/PC per annum and increase the market share by being in the market for long term basis.
There is a Joint Economic Commission of Iran-Uzbekistan going on this week in Tashkent of Uzbekistan holding between highest authorities of two countries, Mr. Nematzade, Minister of Trade and Mining of Islamic Republic of Iran and Mr. Elyar Ghaniov, Trade and Investment Minister of Uzbekistan. Currently, GBPC export mainly to India and Turkey markets and sell the rest extensively in domestic market. But SGG is under serious negotiations with potential CIS, European and Asian Companies for ABS and it is predicted to export good quantity of this material to above markets during 2015.
As MRC informed earlier, it's been more than 50 years that Iran started producing petrochemical products. Iran, as one of the main energy hubs in the world, with huge oil and gas reserves, is one of the leading producers of petrochemical products in the world. In 2006, the total consumption of different polymer products was 202 million metric tons and it is estimated this figure reach to 316 million metric ton by 2016. Currently number of active Iranian Petrochemical complexes are 53, with total production capacity of 59 million metric ton, producing range of polymers, chemicals, aromatics & liquid gas, located mainly at Iranian south region, next to Persian Gulf, called Assaluyeh and Mahshahr Special Economic Zones. At the moment, there are 67 developments projects in the country which are under construction, adding 61 million metric ton on total production and estimated to fully run till 2018.
