MOSCOW (MRC) - Production of polypropylene (PP) in Russia increased to 772,500 tonne in first seven months of this year, up 37% compared to the same period of 2014. Increase in production volumes showed all Russian companies, except Ufaorgsintez, as per MRC ScanPlast.
July PP production in Russia practically remained at the level of June at 104,200 tonnes. The decline in production in the last month from Tobolsk-Polymer and Ufaorgsintez was offset by the growth in PP output from other producers. Total PP production in Russia reached 772,500 tonnes in the first seven months of the year, compared with 562,000 tonnes in the same period of 2014. All Russian PP producers increased their production rates in the first seven months of the year, the only exception was only Ufaorgsintez.

The largest producer of polypropylene in Russia - Tobolsk-Polymer (SIBUR) in July decreased PP production to 25,400 tonnes compared with 30,700 tonnes produced a month earlier. The reduction in the producer's output resulted from scheduled maintenance works that the company did on 21, July. Tobolsk-Polymer's PP production was close to 240,000 tonnes in the first seven months of the year, compared with 98,200 tonnes year on year.
Poliom (Titan Group) last month, produced 18,200 tonnes of PP, compared with 16,800 tonnes in June. Total PP production at the plant over the reported period exceeded 117,100 tonnes, compared with 103,100 tonnes year on year.
Stavrolen (LUKOIL) during July kept practically 100% of the level of capacity utilisation, the total production figure amounted to 10,300 tonnes against 7,300 tonnes in June. PP production at Stavrolen was 64,800 tonnes in the first seven months of the year, compared with 18,100 tonnes in the same time a year earlier (in 2014 the producer worked from March to October).
Nizhnekamskneftekhim (TAIF) and Tomskneftekhim (SIBUR) in July produced 18,700 tonnes and 12,100 tonnes, respectively, compared to 18,000 tonnes and 11,000 tonnes in June. Total PP production in January - July 2015 at these plants was 127,300 tonnes and 81,900 tonnes respectively, up 2% and 7%, compared with the same time a year earlier.
Neftekhimiya (Kapotnya) increased its PP production to 10,600 tonnes in July, compared with 9,800 tonnes in June. Total PP production by the producer exceeded 68,000 tonnes in the first seven months of 2015, up 1% year on year.
Ufaorgsintez in mid-July shut PP production on a week long scheduled maintenance works, as a result, production volumes reduced to 8,900 tonnes against 11,100 tonnes in June. The producer's practically kept its PP production over the reported period at the level of last year, having produced 73,900 tonnes of PP in January-July 2015.
